Nicole Whyte // Honours Student 2024
I am a multimedia illustrator, focussing on characterisation, narrative and medium and often use a mixture of digital and physical artwork to create my designs.
This year I have focused on elevating my work and increasing my portfolio, while still expanding my knowledge and skillset to help prepare me for work after university. My current project and major influence of the year has been Scottish mythology and how these old folktales could be reinvented to appeal to a new audience and encourage travel across Scotland. To bring the mythology of Scotland alive, I have focused on a range of different characters and envisioned them in a more modern setting, while still being identifiable to the core features of their tales. Another passion of mine is animation and specifically stop motion where I have created a short teaser trailer travel campaign to best showcase this project and the themes.
